A great little getaway without having to travel for and miles. Well maintained walks with good sea views. Lovely little tucked away beaches although the sea tends to be very muddy and not really swimmable. Take the time to enjoy the lava Rocks and the small things that catch your eye. Interesting World War 2 gun and searchlight emplacements. There is a lot of History around here. Easy parking too.

Enjoyable afternoon fishing and swimming with friends and our children. Didn't catch a fish but the water was safe for the children and walking around the forts on the headland was a good history lesson from WW2. There were also many other walking tracks there which we will go back and explore. Great view of Magnetic Island and a lovely sunset to our backs.

Beautiful place for a bushwalk with stunning views. I recommend doing the forts walk down to the beach then walking back to the car park along the beach. Not an easy walk as its along a gravel road and over rocks, however my mum did it & she had a bad knee. Well worth the effort.

This is the Many Peaks Trail in Townsville at the Cape Pallarenda Conservation Park. The trail makes up 6.2km and 191m of elevation gain of an 11.5km hike. It is made up of technical rocky rainforest sections and open grassed areas. There are many places to stop to see the stunning views over the Town Common Wetlands, Castle Hill and the City of Townsville. Once at the top there are remarkable oceanic views of the Palm Island group. We definitely recommend going and checking out all the trails in the Cape Pallarenda Conservation Park. Hiking or Mountain biking, you're sure to have a great time. #overlandoffshore #hiking #townsvilleshines #pallarenda #trail
