Wow, what a disappointment! We received this as a gift six months ago and we’re very excited. We have had a few pieces from Robert Gordon in the past and have been very impressed. This platter has stained irreversibly from multiple contacts with food and fruit. It has now been relegated to a storage box. Once a quality producer of Australian made ceramics has now turned to cheap imports. Please see pictures supplied. The price tag hasn’t even had time to wear off yet. This will inevitably end up as a short-term gain for a long-term loss!

Really cool pottery store, workshop and cafe. Would give this place 5 starts in a heartbeat if more stock was actually made in Australia. From a quick browse, it looks like 70-80% of the stock is "Designed in Australia, Made in China". Bought a couple of take-away coffee cups from here which were actually made in Australia and they have been great. Was keen to buy a few more things, but got put off by the price, considering they are made in China. Were they Australian-made, I would have picked up a few more things for sure.

The place is awesome. My partner enjoyed looking for new plates which we don't really need.

Really enjoyed painting mugs here. Beautiful selection of pottery. A little bit on the expensive side but the store often has seconds/ discounted merchandise which I really like digging through to find something beautiful and one of a kind.

Not sure what I expected but whatever it was I was blown away how awesome it was!!! The food was absolutely incredible. Much better than some of the best Melbourne cafes... the coffee was perfect and if I had enough room for a cake I would have stuffed it in... The plate and duck painting was one of the 1st times I've seen my daughter properly concentrate and stay quiet for more than 6 minutes!! Well worth a trip. Don't just a book by it's cover. The building is very unassuming, what's inside will give hours of fun and enjoyment. Well done and keep it going!!

Used to come a lot for the made in Australia but now pretty much everything is made in China with the expensive Australian price tags. Shame that such an icon has all its pottery made in China. Not sure I will go back.

So many reasons to visit! 1. Great Australian brand for excellent pottery. They still make many of their lines here in Australia with also the inevitable “designed in Australia and made in China” products as well 2. The cafe is excellent- coffee is very good - and the food is great. Great to be able to get a good coffee and a meal as you work out your next set of dinnerware (do you go all the same or get some contrasting pieces?) 3. The most important reason to visit is the staff- they are exceptional (big shout out to Fran who was just amazing and gave us one of the best retail shopping experiences I have had in a long time as we deliberated and agonised over what to choose)I
