Love The Mayfield Vineyard! The rooms are comfortable, the atmosphere is amazing, the host is so chilled.... We loved everything about this rustic, magical place.

Lovely place to stay. Animal are around. The room were clean but bit smelly from the connor of bedroom.
Authentic, private, clean, transcend to the past but with all comforts, beautiful experience full of country charm. Highly recommend.
We had an average stay at Mayfield cottage - the vineyards around are amazing with beautiful outlooks; the cottage ... well, were do I start ... The cottage itself (we stayed in the Overseers) is below average for the price we paid : the gas heater wasn't working in one of the rooms and 2 out of 4 single beds had their heating blankets not working. For being middle of July, that meant we were more cold than luke warm and ended up leaving early on our last day; keen to return to our warm home with a nice wood fire. The cottage is "rustic" in decoration which may be part of it's charm for some but the photos online versus the feel once you get there isn't the same. The bathroom is basic and could do with renovation. Similarly, kitchen drawers are about to fall apart. Cleanliness is average, below standard if I consider what I'd expect for what we paid. Overall, overpriced for what it is: 400 per night (as we had 3 kids \u003c12yrs which you pay extra for). I would have expected up to 250-300 for the cottage now that we stayed at it. The pictures online made it look nicer than what is was (the cottage; not the location). Note that when my son tried to ask for help on how to get the gas heater would work, he was just told it didn't work and that was that. We subsequently didn't even bother raising that the heating blankets weren't working either as they clearly aren't bothered. There are extra blankets in a box, the smell though will make you run a mile away. We put it back in the box, opened the windows for the air to clear (that's how bad it smelled of moth balls!). Oh, there are lots of DVD's in the cottage ... which are of no use as there is not a DVD player! I wouldn't recommend the cottages - the owners need to reinvest in their look, feel and comfort if they want to ask the prices they ask.
Hosts were super friendly, very very accommodating, super clean place, great ambience. We would love to go back again and again. Highly recommended
Beware. DO NOT say here. The owner Kathy double booked us and didn't tell us. Found out the day before .. but only because we rang to check about breakfast. Friends also tried to book with a dog as advertised then owner decided dogs not allowed after booking made...again only because we rang to check. Owners extremely unhelpful and actually very angry. I still have a confirmed booking on bookings.com and no where to stay with a family of 6. Worst accommodation experience of my life. I would not recommend this place. Kids are so disappointed as are we.
Wont let you review emu swamp, but I want to tell you my tales of this place. Came here when I was younger seeking adventure, and contrary to the name, didn't find any emus. Got to say that I am a relative of Icely by which the road is named, and I think it is fitting that he strove these landscapes years prior to me. Also beat my minesweeper record here on 5x9, beating it in 3 seconds! My previous record was 5 seconds so the two second improvement is quite impressive. Thank you, emu swamp.
Such a lovely place to stay. Very welcoming and cosy. Was a great escape and an opportunity to unwind
