I went to this place to buy some compost. I used standard 25L Bag to carry the compost. This guy at the gate seemed have little patience to serve someone like me who only wanted to buy small amount of compost. When being asked about the price how he arrived to charge me, he said, "if you do not like the price, go somewhere else!" I complained to the Adelaide Council immediately that this was not a pleasant experience when I was only trying to work out how the price was determined. The guy named Matt called me after a few days. He seemed that it was OK for his staff to treat people like that. He also commented that they do not encourage people coming to the centre to buy small amount of compost because to them, this increase their time to serve.(it is a waste of time for them) I said in Council's constitution, it is not council's main goal to make a profit, rather your main goal is to bring value to the resident. He then asked me,"are you a resident in Adelaide city?"(It means, if you are not, then I do not need to serve you!) I had the feeling that if the boss of the centre acted and believed in this way, how can the staff treat the residents with respect. I am not a resident of Adelaide council, so I cannot come to the centre to buy the compost? I do not have the right to ask how you determined the price you have calculated? Am I a nuisance to you just to buy some compost?
If you are a city rate payer or rent in rhe city you can take your green waste here for free. I think 2 or 3 times a year. Saved me 40 and the city council recycles it there.
Drop off all your green waste...SA residents get 4 drop offs a year for free apparently...
