Unfortunately I’ve had quite a few friends who have gone here and had nothing but problems, and too scared to put reviews up as they don't want to cause drama with the owner. The school publicly known for "borrowing" coursework from another business, also known for being super shady and writing her own reviews on google, and creating loopholes in her contracts which end up costing you much more money then you intended. Only reason I am writing this as my friends have spent thousands of dollars on the different courses offered here and I’d hate for anyone to go through what they have. Come here if you: 1.\tLove the idea of handing in assignments and not get any feedback for months. 2.\tEnjoy paying your money to learn at home when you need constant assistance 3.\tTo learn in an environment which is extremely toxic and the employees are not treated properly 4.\tTo be constantly belittled by the owner once you have signed your first contract Aware this review is probably going to be somehow flagged as spam, as Donna is going to do everything in her power to delete it. But please do not sign up to any courses here and support such a corrupt business. It is disappointing businesses like this are still being run in 2020.

We held our wedding ceremony at Hunter Design School on 6 June 2020 and could'nt be happier with how it turned out. We had initially booked the ceremony somewhere else but given covid restrictions we had to change venues and we are so glad we did. The ceremony was everything we had hoped it would be. Thank you for being so professional and easy to deal with. Thank you so much, Dane & Alex.

I agree with the last negative review ! Does not deliver what you first sign up for ! Very disappointing and the owner Donna has no compassion! Just happy to take your money ! I don’t go around leaving Neg feedback , but 3 years on I still cannot believe they are still running !

Had a wonderful day completing two workshops at Hunter Design School with Donna. Such a beautiful space to learn and create, would highly recommend for anyone wanting to increase their knowledge of design! Hunters best design space by far !

Hunter design school is probably one of the only schools I know of that is really passionate about students knowing how to originate design and be job ready. I hear so many messages out in the big world of education, study here and get your dream job, be ambitious, study for free and so forth, but I think this school's message of disruption, boldness, pushing boundaries and owning your future is where education should be. I know some people who see this as a negative and that's ok for those who just want to get a certificate, but from what I see, there are some students who really do want to push those boundaries and be the best at what they do and they have definitely achieved that. It's sort of funny that a school, or any business for that matter, who is passionate about being up to date can sometimes be seen as scrambling or unorganised, but from what I saw down there today was a school who is constantly changing with the fast pace of opportunity, staying ahead and growing with the demands, rather than just being satisfied to stay comfortable. I say keep going, keep growing and keep doing what you're doing because it is absolutely tremendous and definitely something the hunter region needs because I truly believe the day is coming where Newcastle will be on the world map for music, film and design. and WOW, your current exhibition is amazing, I see myself living in that container house. I have many colleagues in Sydney and beyond who are always keen to employ a student from hunter design school, the only catch is, we just need to convince them to leave Newcastle.

Pushes students to think outside of the box and define design boundaries. Practical learning style, great Industry connections, real-life clients for assessments, beautiful teaching space!

I really enjoyed my time at HDS. They are innovative and pushing boundaries in the way they deliver education in design.

This would have to be one of the most exciting places I have ever worked.
