Whilst many women may be fine with a cursory termination experience, I was still under the impression that such a procedure should made when a woman is making an informed choice. I have been very disappointed and negatively impacted by the lack of psychological care provided before and after this experience. In fact, it was never explicitly offered despite a lengthy history of mental health challenges which would have been present in my file. I understand abortions are a regular occurrence for these workers, but they sure aren’t for me and the mcdonaldization of the medical system was glaring apparent during this experience. An abortion is an invasive procedure that can have psychological and physical impacts. Despite having my procedure months ago, I have felt angry and regretful ever since. I understand that is my burden to bear and I consented to a procedure. But was that decision informed? And was any psychological support provided or even offered to ensure I made an informed decision? No, that did not happen. Was my partner able to stay with me until I went in? No. Did I feel like a nuisance because I was distressed? Yes. If you can handle a rapid, nonchalant service and are not distressed about making such a decision, by all means use this clinic. If you are uncertain and wanting psychological care, perhaps not.

Horrible front desk staff with no empathy. No communication between the different departments. Front desk staff are rude, disrespectful and appear to hate their jobs. Makes a difficult experience that much more difficult due to the poor mannerisms an incompetence of front desk staff employed here, who do the bare minimum they possibly can. Worth travelling to Brisbane just to avoid this place.
