We joined a 2 hour historical tour with Bathurst Goldfields over the school holidays. Very good for primary aged kids. Included is an interactive talk about the history of gold mining where practices and tools are presented and explained. You are then shown around the goldfields, the mill and mine, the forge and finally a demonstration of gold panning and time to have a go at gold panning yourself. Very conveniently located just off the Mt Panorama racetrack.

Extremely well recreated gold mining village providing realistic glimpses of how life of the miner was during the gold rush of 1850s. A trip to Bathurst is incomplete without a visit to the gold mining museum.

Tours are really good
went there for a school trip and the rails on the bunk beds came off. walls where stained. a power point in our room sparked from using a fan. you can here people coming down the hallway very loudly
This was my first camp for School and it was very enjoyable. The beds were like from a motel, beds were alright, good showers but sometimes can release cold water which isn't bad. It had a tv which was very amazing and even a fridge. I enjoy history and this had a bunch of historical things about Australia which interested me and I just want to return here again as it was so fun. My favorite part was eating damper which tastes so good! Also I enjoyed I was like in the 1850s and trying to find gold like the people trying to find gold to become rich.
Very lovely place,would definitely go back for an event
