It's clean however abit crowded. If you looking for motivations for cardio training, take a cycling class with Andrew there, an ex rowing champion :)

I used to be a member of this gym, and after a long hiatus from injury I have rejoined. The renovations make this one of the most airy, clean gyms I have visited, with lots of covid safe measures, friendly reception and good music of you, like me, forget your headphones. I made the mistake and used the machines downstairs in the weights room which was bloke's world, but my daughter informed me that upstairs it was a bit less intimidating. It wouldn't have bothered me in my younger days, but as a 50 woman with an injury I'm a bit self conscious about gravity and the fact that I have to lift the lightest weights and use machines on light settings so I don't aggravate my arthritis. Anyway, upstairs there are loads of classes, unfortunately most are out of my abilities and pilates and yoga are when I am at work. There are plenty of machines in tip top condition, and the bathrooms are a thing of beauty, this gym is very clean. NOTE: don't forget to take a towel. I did and was frogmarched down to reception, tail between my legs (in the nicest possible way - I understand their dedication to everyone's health and safety during the pandemic) and hired one for 3.50. I also forgot my pass, but they logged me in with a pass key for a locker, which I promised to return and prompt forgot to do. I'll take it back tomorrow. It's a good gym, nice people, good vibe. ##edit## Yes, I forgot my pass, my towle and forgot to give back the pass for a locker. I was having a moment.

From 25 January 2021, Mosman Fitness first has decided to lock the cycle studio (outside of scheduled class times). This severely restricts your ability to use the bikes. The main excuse they gave was that people "tamper" with the bikes outside of class times - this is actually very difficult to do as the bikes are very sturdy and difficult to misuse. They have also significantly reduced the number of cycle classes with Covid - and all the classes they still run are booked out many days in advance. The response has been to put 4 bikes on the gym floor - which is already overcrowded. This is a poor decision - many regular cyclists are very disappointed. Other Fitness First gyms do not lock their cycle studios - so why does Mosman lock its studio? I thought the idea of a gym was to encourage members to use the equipment to get fit!?!?

Spoke to staff to sign up for a short term contract due to relocation to Melbourne. After going through options they suggested that we could easily cancel if we showed proof of relocation. Relocated to Melbourne and gave proof of relocation only to be told we could not cancel. Have tried to phone to find a solution but just spend ages on hold.

I like the location and equipment at Mosman Fitness First. However their service of facilities esp changing rooms is pretty poor. At the time of writing this ( 2021 January) 8 out of 14 showers are not working properly despite me reporting this on more than 5 occasions. Same applied to sauna before Covid. Paper wipes / towels for cleaning equipment are often gone (30% of the times) which is not very helpful during pandemic. Mt fav pre workout is missing form fridge shelves for a week without being restocked. The best I got from friendly receptionist was that they have changed support company. For someone that claims to be Platinum service its simply not good enough.

Gym itself is ok, but the personal trainers and management are fraudulent. Read through other reviews and you'll see there is a consistent story around personal trainers charging but not showing, and to my surprise it wasn't just the one I had. Management hides behind a story that personal trainers aren't staff, except they are referred by staff and accept money from the trainers via your fees (including when the trainers don't provide service due to no shows, I including when the gym is shut down for quarantine, etc). Beyond this, the trainers are mostly kids and very inexperienced in what they're doing. I paid money to get into worse shape, then had to fix it after the very painful and expensive process of stopping. The saying a player isn't a coach very much applies here.
