Dropped in for lunch with some friends. Nice selection of beers, great historic pub with friendly staff. Food was typical pub style but quick to come out. Has a nice beer garden out the back as well.

A beautiful old pub , on the main Street of Morpeth. An epic selection of local brews for any taste. The menu selection is awesome and I had one of the daily specials. The garlic chicken keiv was amazing. Have table reservation for big groups , and the staff are Friendly as. I'll definitely back for another stop in for a feed and a trade IPA.
Food was average. 2 servings if fish and chips and arrancini. 60 odd bucks. Fish was nice but it was obvious it came in frozen. Same with the arrancini. They were on the menu as mushroom. But were plain like a bulk frozen packet ordered from a catering food company. Waited and hour and a half. Place was dirty with dead flys on the window sill. Not pleasant.
Nice pub...ordinary pub food but fast. Friendly bar staff & male restaurant staff but the woman serving in the restaurant ...very unfriendly and I didn't appreciate her trying to collect plates when people hadn't finished eating & swearing when she dropped cutlery in front of my daughter (11 years old)! Ordinary!
