Fantastic experience. The last time we came to Narrows Escape was with the previous owners. We were hoping it wouldn’t have changed much as we absolutely loved it the first time around. Once again we had a great time, the charm was still there but you could also notice the new touches, all for the better! We loved our stay, it was the perfect city escape. We went for their luxury package which included massages, two fine dining dinners and a hinterland escape. All amazing and we didn’t have to book anything, Ali the new owner took care of everything. We felt welcome every step of the way, it was everything we needed to recharge the batteries and we will be back again. Thank you!!!

TLDR: 40 day refund time, jacking prices to squeeze money from customers. Booked 2 nights here for my partners birthday. On the day, Brisbane announced a 3 day lockdown, and after multiple calls to the owners, we were told not to come - understandable, and I was willing to accommodate. We were given two options - to rebook, or pay a 50 cancellation fee. I decided to rebook, and was hit with an extra fee of 180. The difference was to cover their “annual inflation rate”, but also the 10% off I got from booking via booking.com. I asked about this and was told “different times have different prices” with no more explanation. As I already paid 800 for 2 nights, I decided to cancel. Out of principle, I argued the “cancellation fee” to no avail, even though I didn’t cancel, but was told not to come. If this rule held true, they could easily cancel every booking they had for the remainder of the year and earn 50 from each... absolutely crazy. After agreeing to the refund and cancellation fee, the owner refused to refund despite calling 7 times over 6 weeks - it was lucky I got written confirmation via bookings.com, who sent a notice to the property. My refund arrived 40 days later. I’m sure the place is lovely, but the attitude of the owner surely isn’t. Shame!

My partner went to book Narrows Escape for my birthday and we were really looking forward to it. On my birthday when we were due to leave, Brisbane announced a 3-day lockdown so we called Narrows Escape and asked if they were still happy to have us if we left before the lockdown started. Initially they said yes but then called us back to say they checked with Tourism Australia and it’d be best if we didn’t come. This was unfortunate but understandable. From this point we were given 2 options. Book a different date or get a refund. We initially chose to book another date in July and was told we’d have to pay an extra 180. Once we heard this, we decided to go with the refund instead where we were hit with a 50 cancellation fee even though we DID NOT cancel. My partner tried to argue the cancellation fee as Narrows Escape cancelled on us but they refused and said we’d still have to pay it. At this point, we rang bookings.com who then rang the owners and told us that Narrows Escape mentioned WE CANCELLED ON THEM (which was a complete lie!) and so we had to pay the fee. In the end, we agreed to the cancellation fee where we were then told it’d take 15 days to refund us the rest. 40 days later, after multiple phone calls via bookings.com we eventually received the refund. Very, disappointing customer service from Narrows Escape which is a shame as we were really looking forward to staying in their cottages. We were just lucky bookings.com offered us support and were able to rectify the situation when Narrows Escape didn’t.

Ultimate in relaxation... we stayed here for our 30th Wedding Anniversary and was pure bliss. Every detail was thought of to make our stay enjoyable. Totally recommend.

After being stuck in QLD due to Covid...it was wonderful to finally find a place that truly felt like we got away from it all. The attention to detail was exactly what we experience overseas, not usually in OZ. The service, the trimmings & finishes and the little extra love shown in the care of the property. We stayed in the Dove Villa and can't wait to return in winter to get cracking on the fire place. - Only downfall....was that we had to leave. Thankyou for the amazing experience and omg..those croissants !!
