The curry rice was really tasty and plentiful for only 13 dollars. It's also a unique experience that keeps the food nice and hot (the sizzling plate). It also allows for longer stays. The atmosphere was nice and ordering was easy as you order through the kiosk and get seated. That's it! Would recommend for a quick lunch or dinner with friends. Nothing too fancy but is very reliable and consistent.
I have often woken up at night craving pepper lunch. That's how good this place is. It's unassuming - you go in, you pick a number, place your order through the smart pad, find a table and wait for a delicious meal to be placed in front of you. If you're going here for the first time, here's what to expect. It's a DIY meal. You order the stuff you want and they will get you your meal on an iron plate heated to 260C which remains hot for approx 20 - 30 minutes. I use this time to let the meat cook to and mix the curry, spices and rice. It's a unique sizzling meal. My favorites are the classic beef or curry beef pepper rice. Order an extra side of gravy which comes in a boat. Just writing this review is making me crave it.
Food taste nice but not value for the money. Bit disappointed when the food was served.
The quality of the meals here has really gone downhill recently. I’ve been going to this same Pepper Lunch for years and the food tastes nowhere near the same as it used to. I went today and got an abysmal amount of meat on my plate. When I asked the waitress about it she told me that was the regular amount (this is despite the store display having much more meat) The quality of the meat has declined too, it was chewy, strong flavored and had a lot of gristle. To top it off I ordered the less pepper option and I got MORE pepper on my meal than my partner did. I used to recommend Pepper Lunch to all of my friends but now I will be warning them to stay away as it is not the same place it once was. They’ve cheaped out and you are getting ripped off.

Love the place and the food, weird self service as well where you have to choose a seat then order the food on a tablet in the front of the store which was confusing for me. The food was good, i believe it’s good if you want a quick good meal
