These guys have a real customer service focus and I can certainly vouch for the quality of their work. They first made me a pair of prescription Oakley sunnies back in 2007 when very few places were doing prescription curved lenses. They were very patient with my many questions and I didn't feel the sales pressure that you so often get at the big chain places. It was a rush job as I was leaving on a long Pacific Islands trip in 3 days. They had it done by the next day. When I picked the sunnies up I was given a spare lens. There was a *tiny* scratch that I would never have noticed, but it was unacceptable to them so they had automatically made up a replacement. I was so impressed by their service that years later, even though I'd moved interstate I bought another pair of prescription sunnies (for occasional use on a boat) from them remotely, confident they'd do a great job. They did. Sadly that second pair disappeared overboard after a few years. However the custom lenses on the first pair, now 14 years old, are still going strong, despite being worn virtually every day of that period, and I haven't treated them with kid gloves. The Oakley frame, however, is getting a little tired so I've just bought a third pair from Melbourne Optical Centre, confident that they'll nail it again.

I have been with Melbourne Optical for about 7 years (maybe more!) and have found their service, knowledge and experience amazing. The eye tests are very thorough. I have broken and lost so many pairs of glasses and they will go out of their way to fix them (sometimes at no cost) or make sure I have lenses (at no cost) to tide me over until my new pair of glasses arrive. Education on care of glasses is important to them (clearly lost on me!). Ensuring the fit of your new glasses is also important to Melbourne Optical as they fuss over making sure they are secure on your face. Turnaround on glasses is quick too. Nothing is too difficult for Melbourne Optical. Although the price point may be higher than other larger franchises, the personalised service and high standard products are well and truly worth it. Thank you for doing you Melbourne Optical!
