This granite, bronze and concrete fountain located in the Shrine Gardens, corner of Domain and St Kilda Roads, was a gift and presented to the people of Victoria by confectionery businessman and a philanthropist Sir Macpherson Robertson to celebrate Victoria's centenary in 1934. It was designed by Philip Hudson and sculptured by Paul Montford. The fountain consists of two pools, one within the other, and a bronze figure of a boy catching a dolphin on top of a central granite column. Around the fountain are bronze frogs, sea horses and platypus, which spray water into the pools. Jets of water spout out and up. It's a beautiful fountain right at the end of King's Domain. The Shrine of Remembrance and its gardens are a must-see landmark in Melbourne.
