Spoke to a professional Sargent in the armoured division about signing up and going forward he answered all my questions and was a very awesome guy

I went for YOU session earlier and i have to say that what was said is completely untrue, at least with the staff i encountered. They were friendly and super helpful and whilst waiting for an interview with a careers councilor the staff did a game of defence trivia to pass the time, and the careers councilor i got was quite helpful and respectful. Overall the experience i got was exactly what i would expect, professional and informative. 5 Stars

This place is awesome, if you turn up informed and have done a minimal amount of research into the Job you're after, you will get the best outcome. If you turn up in Active Wear or looking like a westy then expect to be judged for what you are. The Staff are all senior members of their respective services, and won't stand for snowflakes. Remember this is the Defence force, not mums cafe.

Attended a "YOU session", admittedly a bit nervous given the amount one star reviews saying how rude the staff were. Completely disagree. The staff I encountered were wonderful and informative, everyone was quite positive. Present yourself professionally and be respectful and you'll be treated with respect.

whilst being on hold on a call for half an hour, one member of the staff simply answered by "please call another number at xxxxxxx", which does NOT work either. I tried to call the recruitment centre again, but, as expected didn't work AGAIN

They're really not as bad as everyone says they are. If you do some research on the roles you apply for and are truly adamant on joining the ADF, you'll have no issue with them. Staff are friendly and mostly helpful, though some a little less than others, but overall are pretty knowledgable. You may need to be pushy when attempting to book assessment days etc. as it's pretty easy to slip through the cracks
