I hate going to CBD but I would be willing to go there just for the food here. I reckon it is one of the best (if not the best) Hong Kong style cafe in Melbourne. Their "fried egg pork chop with shallot sauce on rice" was soooo good...

It's a tiny restaurant with about 5 group of seats and I think they set up seats outside too. I ordered stirred fried hor fun with beef and no gravy. It was good and smokey. My friend said it's one of the best she tried. The sandwich was a wow factor, as in when you see it you'll go "wow" because of how thick the breads were. Servings were generous and price is reasonable.
*4.5 stars* I was pleasantly surprised by this place. Ordered the braised pork belly and pork mince with rice which turned out to be homely and packed with flavour. However, I only got three thin slices of pork belly hidden amongst the mince. Given the name of the dish, I would've appreciated a bit more of a balance between the portion of pork belly vs pork mince, but other than that, great taste and pricing.
Order the: eggplant and mince meat claypot rice set Review: this place reminded me of the many classic HK diners where I had spam scrambled egg breakfast sets. They even sell a very decadent French toast and the classic polo pineapple bun that HK is so famous for. We visited for a quick casual dinner and opted for savoury options. My general take of this place is that they serve comfort food. The mince pork belly dish erred on the sweet side, but was generous in portions and just tasted super heartwarming. The mince egg claypot rice set came with a homemade abc soup (carrot, pork and radish) and can be comfortably shared among two diners. I thought the claypot dish came with a tad too much oil. They score high marks in terms of taste though - the soft eggplant texture absorbed all of the addictive bean infused sauce. the mince pork medley went really well with rice too. There aren’t many HK diners around, so this is a respectable interpretation of their dishes.
A traditional style HK diner/Cha chan teng. The offer all the classics and prices are not too bad. Definitely will come back to try the HK style French toast and rice dishes.
The pork chop was soooo delicious, and the french toast was huge and fluffy! Excited to come back and try the other dishes soon Staff were nice and friendly, and the interior is nicely decorated!
Good Hong Kong style cafe, serving authentic tasting HK comfort food (Cha Charn Tang). Reminds me of my days in Hong Kong. Thumbs up to the friendly waitresses.
Food was average but expensive. The waiting time was super long and customer service was horrible. I witnessed how rude the boss was towards those delivery men. Watch out for the extra 5% surcharge for ordering via their app. If I ever go to the city again, I will definitely go somewhere else for the authentic Hong Kong / Cantonese food.
