I began attending the beginner shoots in 2009, joined that year and have been a member every year since! KGSA is good for novice shooters all the way to national and international archers. The poor reviews regarding a particular aspect of the beginner sessions can now be put aside due to new circumstances which these people who have left reviews will likely not be aware of.

went with some friends for the 15 come and try session on saturday morning. lots of fun, well organised and really friendly club members providing instruction. everyone in the group was hitting the target well from pre-teens to middle aged adults. great!

This is a great club and location. Feels relaxed, friendly and welcoming. The members and president are happy to stop and talk to a new prospective member (I transferred from My Petrie Bowmen in Qld). The come and try sessions look well organised and enjoyed by people too. My respect and gratitude to the people who run clubs like this, remember they are volunteers and are giving up their time for the sport and public outreach. We are lucky to have them.

Due to the reviews about Gino, will not be attending this range.

I've been a member of this club since 2015. Pretty decent club, some nice people to share a target with. It is nice to shoot on a morning especially in the school holidays.

This place has huge potential but I agree with some of the other reviews with the fact that Gino’s behaviour isn’t satisfactory. If this was a business it would have closed down years ago as customer service and care is paramount in a successful organisation. It’s a sad thing to say but most clubs in WA appear to have similar a culture. Unfortunately Archery has been let down in WA mainly because of a lack of facilities and poor and in some cases toxic behaviour and culture which scares new people away - thus making it a small sport. Once again it seems the east coast has come up on top and the west is on the bottom.

A well organised archery club in a lovely setting that is let down by the elderly man who instructs, Gino. His snappy and rude attitude really put my kids off and his lack of patience and understanding towards beginners completely baffled me. Perhaps Gino should be out the back setting up and not dealing with customers out the front. Other than that, it seemed like a nice enough archery centre but it’s spoilt by an overbearing grouch who could do with some training in customer care.

I would like to address the one star review from Raelene. My partner and I went to the introductory beginner’s session on Saturday Dec 16 and our instructor was Gino. He was amazing! I could tell straight away this man was intensely passionate about archery and had a wealth of knowledge, and experience, that he wanted to share and teach to beginners. He even said so himself, ‘I know I pack a lot of information, but if you get all the fundamentals of position and grounding then there’s less of a chance to form bad habits.’ I soaked up as much of his teaching as possible, he was a brilliant instructor and he was polite and kind, and patient, with not just us, but also a young boy that was grouped with my partner and me. Do not let Raelene’s review put you off. I found Kalamunda Governor Stirling Archers, welcoming, inclusive, with great sense of humour, and was an all round amazing experience. So much so that my partner and I have already decided we want to become members! Archery is great for body, mind and soul!!
