I took my 87 yo mum to Sewco today as she had a problem with a sewing machine she bought from Sewco 13 years ago. They remembered her very well as she had done some lessons with her new machine at that time. They treated her like a long lost friend. It made her day. Mum now is going back to have some revision lessons. The machine only needed a service. I am a new quilter (just retired) and I found the staff so helpful and lovely ...I am so eager to learn more from them. BTW they have so many beautiful fabrics, I usually shop at Spotlight but I found Sewco prices reasonable because the of range and quality. ( currently they have a 50% off sale) They have heaps of ideas and completed examples that got me wanting to do everything I saw. That is the problem once you get bitten by the quilting bug.

I went to Spotlight to get some overlocker needles, after wading through all the flotsam and jetsam found a wall of generic needles (no brand specifics). The lady said yeah that should be right. Took them home and they didnt fit. Decided to go to Sewco instead. I was greeted on arrival and immediately shown some official Janome needles, that fit like a charm and were half the price Spotlight were charging for their no-name needles. Sucks boo to Spotlight, I wont go there anymore, I'll go to Sewco.

It isn't worth 1 star...the service i received today was appalling...I will not be spending of my hard earned money in this store again..the lady was sooo rude how does she have a career in retail...
