Paul Everest I wish I had of seen your post before I chose to go with Madsen. I only gave 1 star cause it wouldn't go on further, otherwise they wouldn't have got a star. When I rang Madsen to enquire for an appointment for my mother to do her will I spoke to Laughlin who was pleasant to talk to. The cost which of course everyone would ask cause it's all about the mighty dollar. I was told 385 for a standard Will. My mum wanted to update her old will which was only a 1 page Will and make some amendments To me I thought this would be a straight forward simple process. Yeah NOT, anywho had I been told right from my enquiry for the cost that a standard appointment was for a half an hour and because my mums Will required a check by a NZ lawyer we went over an hour and after much confusion on our part we walked out and unfinished with my mum not explaining what else she wanted amended in her Will. On top of this Mum gets a 154 - 1.5 page letter on top of the cost of the Will explaining our visit and recommendations, however there was a horrible comment in there that could have been worded a hell of a lot better about my mother and what I noted a concern. This cost I thought was for something my mum wanted attached to her Will. After being told to go to my car, from his office because I was trying to explain my versions of everything mum walked out paying 269.50 and in total 669.50 all up and with no added attachment that I emailed asking to be attached which was what I thought the154 was for. So Thanks but no thanks.
