For all new Simonds customers and for those considering building a home through Simonds, do not be deceived by their display homes and quality of workmanship promised – you may be disappointed and left in a disadvantaged position. This Simonds Home has sat like this for the last Three YEARS ( it sad to say this it is now THREE YEARS not Two years). I have spoken with council and they have let me know the the home was place in the wrong location and it needs to be moved. I asked them why council approved the plans, to which they told me that Simonds use their own private building certifier and it is their responsible to knock down & rebuild the house. Do not build (never build with Simonds homes as your house will never get finished) with Simonds, as you could be left paying for a uncompleted house like this.
Visited the show home in Brisbane and met with the sales consultant. Explained our situation and asked for pricing on a house style within their range. Details exchanged and off I went. Not only did I never hear from them but they also contacted a rival company we had engaged with to tip them off that we were looking at other options. Waste of time, unprofessional and a disgrace to the industry Would never recommend them to anyone.
Built back in 2017. Very very poor workmanship. Walls cracking open. Floor shifting away from walls, uneven and not straight plasterboard. Not built to plan, till this day not sure why I ever thought it was a good idea to build through them. Honest opinion. Pick someone else.
We built our new home with Simonds in late 2016-early 2017 and we love it. The people are great and all stages of the build and after care process have gone without any worries at all. Can highly recommend.
It's been like pulling teeth to get repairs done on issues that were identified before we got the keys.... in August last year. Went through multiple site supervisors and the one we ended up with, Andrew, was hopeless at communicating with us and promised repairs would be made before handover and they weren't. Then after handover we were told we'd have to wait until our 6 month maintenance inspection. 6 month inspection occurred and he missed things. The house is great but the stuff around by simonds is neverending.
Patient, detailed, great advice and plans to suit. Able to give accurate costing which other builders could not. Really happy!
