Council have built a great skate park there now. A new childrens play ground , & adding more picnic tables

Beautiful places to pull off the road along the lakeside for a break. Unsure if you'd go swimming but at least you can cool off your feet!

Extremely picturesque postcard view of Lake Cathie. Great place to eat some fish & chips while taking in the view.

The foreshore was crowded on the Saturday we visited as it was a 35 degree day in most of the area. Young families flock to the spot because it is free, expansive and safe for their children. Despite warnings about the health of the water most people attending were swimming. I did not dare. One redeeming factor is that the lake is now open to the sea so it gets regularly flushed with the tides. Too crowded.
