If you are a bit clever you will find out that many things at the University of Wollongong are just a show-off. Parents and students should be aware that the University of Wollongong is a business company, not an educational organization. It can be completely different from whatever you have experienced in your country. You have to know that every single document that you want to sign at UOW is an agreement between you and a business company, and MONEY is the first and most important concern for every single company like UOW. Coming to this university was one of the worse experiences in my life. As an international student never waste your money and time at the UOW College. If you have any possibility of studying English in your country (India, Arabic countries, Iran, Turkey,...) just, do it. Please, do not think that you will have excellent teachers. Most of them are kind but there is no guaranty that they will be well-educated. At the college, staffs look at your pocket not on your personality or academic capabilities (have a look on "Don't insist on English!" at TED Talk). If you could not get credit, then they will be very happy because it will be a new opportunity for them to take more money from you. One of our teachers at the college emphasized this reality. I strongly agree with Micheal Ding Y who gave one star and wrote the following about the UOW College: ... the teachers did nothing but create problems for me. I knew what I was doing. I was an international student but I had a solid English background. However, the teachers constantly oppressed the student, ensuring that they do not score above 70%. It's almost a trend throughout the school, and the vast majority of students acknowledge this. Furthermore, when you ask the teachers to give you a reason for his/her unreasonable grading, he/she will just get mad and give you some bad reason such as "the whole essay is wrong", or "the formatting is entirely wrong".

I suggest just to study 6 weeks before enrollment in the Uni for your IELTS academic. You can practice well in another institution in Sydney such as The Insearch UTS is much better than UOW.

If you are a citizen of Australia and going to be a domestic student, DO NOT GO HERE. UOW Collage is a FOR PROFIT company that will happily take your money and costs more than DOUBLE what the university will cost you per subject. UOW's excessive policy on learning 'ensures you attend all classes' with lectures and tutorials going for twice as long as they need to and do for. If you enrol here to this is shareholder run company, you've just given yourself the permission to be royaly ripped off by a Coles brand equivalent UOW university. 3124 per subject at UOW Collage. 1234 per subject at the university. Save yourself the money and get the education at a creditable facility with teachers that inspire you not one's that allow this form of education to continue. *message by a sad ripped off student that once enrolled here
