Gorgeous falls eep in the park, with a lovely natural swimming area. Pretty steep, uneven hike to get down there and back up, so definitely wear your hiking boots, but it's so worth it. Go in slowly-- the water is COLD!

What a wonderful Summer surprise to still have water flowing mid January. I don't know if that's normal? The walk is easy going at first using the fire trails, but a steep decent (and ascent back) for the actual falls. We parked at Staples Lookout and used the firetrail entrance across the road to get to the waterfall track. Be especially careful crossing the road coming back, it's a blind corner and cars are flying. We went for a swim at the falls and the water was very refreshing. And you can sit yourself under the falls for a back massage. We took some roast chook rolls for lunch and sat next to the falls and enjoyed the bush sounds. There are no bins there, so just remember to take your rubbish with you! Date of visit: 2021-01-16 from around midday. Temp approx 30. Total time for the round trip was about 3 hours with the dip and lunch.

Definitely a place for a hot day ... Not a difficult walk ... 30 min easy ... 10min steep stepped walkway down into the gully. Paradise be found there.

From Wondabyne station, the walk to the falls is around 1.5 or 2 hours long (one way) when constantly moving but not rushing. I would think if you ran you could do it within an hour or slightly less. Contrary to comments below about a 30-45 minute relatively easy walk, I would be extremely shocked if that were true (perhaps those people found a different start point along a fire trail?). There were people of all ages along the trail and it is certainly doable for a wide range of people if you take your time, although I noticed the older people were stopping for breaks more often and it looked like the same walk was taking that group at least 3 hours (we saw them leave 20 minutes before us, we passed them, and we waited at the train for at least 40 minutes before heading off but they never arrived in time to catch the train). The trains come hourly so if you miss one it will be a while before the next. It is a beautiful spot but it isn't very easy to get to, and if you fall, get lost, or get bit by one of the snakes in the area, hopefully your hiking buddy is strong enough to carry you out and up down steep paths to get you out of there because it would not be easy for any emergency crew to get to you.
