One of my favourite cafes in Newcastle. From the unique decor and vibe, to the amazing people, also taking into account all their fantastic social initiatives, I cannot rate this place any lower than 5 stars. The wait can get a little long on some days, though to me that just speaks to the venue's popularity. The wait has never been unreasonable, and the products are beyond impressive. Each cup of coffee is expertly prepared with love and attention to detail. Glad to call myself a Spenno Rat

Coffee is always good here and they usually have a couple of delicious tarts/cakes to choose from. They also do a very nice iced chocolate. It can get a little noisy during the busy periods with background music and patrons talking over that but the atmosphere is rustic and welcoming. As I recall their lunch menu is limited but that just makes it easy to choose and what they make is usually better that the description indicates.

Dropped by for a quick lunch before heading back to Sydney in the train. The lunch special was pumpkins soup and it was the best I’ve ever had!!! The sourdough on the side was toasted perfectly and had a herbed type butter smeared lightly which gave it that extra taste. I’d highly recommend, the staff were friendly and helpful and the cafe was comfortable and easy to get in and out of and the seating spread out so that you weren’t listening to the persons conversation at the table next to you :)
One of the best Smashed Avo's going in Newcastle. Coffee is great and all served in a relaxed atmosphere. Staff give you a genuine greeting which makes you feel welcome as soon as you walk in the door
