Our puppy recently finished puppy training school with Richard and I am so happy with the results! As a first time puppy owner, we didn't know what to expect from any of the puppy training school programs we had looked into. Richard's advice and methods worked wonders for us and we have seen a major improvement in our puppy's behaviour. Our puppy is very playful and highly energetic, Richard's approach to understanding his temperament and character has helped him to self soothe, calm down and understand his boundaries within his environment and with us. Richard is literally a dog whisperer! His professionalism and ability to make us understand what our puppy needs as he starts to grow is amazing. I cannot recommend Richard and the team at Dog Tech highly enough!

Tennessee is our American Staffy X Shar Pei rescue. She was picked up at 6 months old from a shelter having spent much of her life abandoned or within the confines of the re-homing system. A keen dog who was eager to please her human companions. But she was strong willed and constantly trying to take control of her world in whatever way she had come to understand in her history. This was exhibited in common 'misbehaviours' as jumping up, pulling on the lead, chasing and barking at any passerby and exhibiting anxiety and mania around the house. The most difficult for us being she had poor etiquette and behaviours around other dogs which led to us being unable to take her to a dog park. Richard showed us important communication techniques and helped to resolve what previously might have been considered 'behavioural issues', particularly with reconciling the old adage that some breeds are just 'born like that'. In two (2) sessions we have gone from an anxious dog exerting her control on the environment, to a reassured and 'thriving' companion. Through Richard we have learnt how to communicate at Tennessee's level, and she has come to understand what we expect of her (etiquette). We have more sessions planned with Richard who plans the next step in each of his dog student's lives. We are looking forward to rejoining dog society with other dogs in the near future - something we didn't believe would be possible before. Tennessee is a wholesome part of our family and loved by all (even non-dog people). The best thing to come from this has been to understand that not all dogs are created the same and that no dog is born with inherent behavioural problems. Anything is possible if you are willing to work with them.

Richard is literally the dog whisperer! Just by one session of one on one training, i saw so much improvement in my puppy. It is amazing how he could interpret the dogs needs and behaviour. He taught him how to calm himself and not get anxiety every time i was to leave the room! All the information was so interesting and beneficial to how i should raise my dog. I highly recommend Dog Tech and especially training with Richard (the owner). I will definitely be going back when it’s time to review my puppy’s behaviour in a few weeks time :)

We have two terrier pups who we took to puppy pre school at DogTech in January 2021. We are having trouble with the pups fighting each other so we were apprehensive when we realised pups would be sometimes off lead during the class. We had no need to worry. Richard, who took the class, managed to have pups and owners calm and relaxed and all proceeded without incident. I realise now puppy pre school is not about training the pups but rather helping to train the owner in how to care responsibly for our new charges. Obedience school will come later, but in the meantime we learnt updated methods of pup training and how to think more canine than human when it comes to the pups. We were so delighted with Richard and the caring team we now send the puppies for more socialisation at puppy day care. For us as locals, the resources at DogTech are excellent and means we can find all we need for our pups easily - food, toys, bowls and especially odour control productsand for a working family that means a lot. Thank you DT team!

Based on my experience I would NOT recommend taking your dog to the puppy school classes at DogTech as I honestly didn’t learn very much at all. I learnt a few tiny tips here and there that have proved useful but 98% of the content was theoretical stuff that you could find out yourself in a quick google search (e.g what are the best foods for your dog, what flowers are poisonous to dogs etc.) We did not cover any of the basics such as sit, stay, come, down, toilet training etc. and much of what the trainer suggested I either didn’t agree with (e.g he was very big on dominance) or was a complete contradiction to the advice of my qualified vet (e.g he said not to take the puppy’s out of the house until they’re 6 months old as they’re not mature enough before then however my vet expressed the importance of taking them out for safe exercise and opportunities to explore different surroundings at a young age) After going to DogTech I enrolled my dog in a different puppy school where we (no exaggeration) learnt about 20 times more things in the very first lesion than I did in the whole 3 week course at DogTech. This is especially bad considering the other school is 5 classes (instead of 3) and is a fraction of the price that I paid at DogTech. Lastly I think it’s important to note that when I (and the other people in the class) asked questions the trainer’s response was often patronising and besides the point (i.e he didn’t actually answer their question at all)

We were losing control of our beagle Buddy, always thinking he was just high energy and happy and not able to control himself or his barking. Jumping on everyone. Biting us for attention. We just thought all dogs were like that. Richard showed us a whole new world of dog thinking and we now understand that he was suffering from anxiety. Now Buddy is calm, playful and happy. Buddy's behaviour has totally changed and he is no longer anxious or nervous around other dogs. It has been a great learning experience for us. Thank you Richard for sharing your calm and gentle methods of helping us and Buddy.
