This place is incredible. Fantastic staff with great knowledge. Beautiful building with great internal decorating. Really incredible food which is very reasonably priced for its quality and produce used. Great selection of beer and wine. Two meter tall beer on the hand pump. Just awesome

Tom Mchugos is changing the way people think about pubs in Hobart while maintaining a classic feel and glimpses of a classic pub menu. This is fine dining at pub prices. Deliciously put together menu with loads to please everyone. Want a chicken parma? Done. Want a miso glazed bean dish. Done. Want amazing fried chicken. You got it. Pair it with a Boags? No worries, pair it with a natural orange wine that’s too easy too. They have it all here in a warm and cosy environment with super amazing and friendly staff.

Unfortunately was disappointed after looking forward to a good pub feed. Chicken parmy came out completely soggy and thoroughly unappetising from the first bite. Decent beers though

Another great icon of the Hobart pub scene. Perfectly located on the boundary between city and the port, with easy access to the major accommodation centres. Decor is fine and simple (it is a pub, after all) and while it can get quite full, it never seems crowded. Staff are great and very efficient. The menu is great and changes to match seasonal local produce. More than just the usual pub fare, it offers a range of large and small dishes, all of them reasonably priced. COVID-19 precautions are good, but meals a limited to a two hour sitting.

Delicious food, beer, cider and reasonable prices in a lovely atmosphere. Super friendly staff! Would be 5 stars if you had a vegan or vegetarian main course option please :)!

Obnoxious table service from staff with a vendetta against an innocent touch of a chair. We all accept the Covid precautions but there is no need for the attitude please. How hard is it to wipe down a chair. We would be happy to do it ourselves if given the chance. Staff need not treat us like a villain

We walked in hoping for good service and a meal. We were able to get a seat fairly quick and I walked to the bar to be served by the dude with a shaved head and a beard. I asked if they served James Boags St George. The bearded gent with his black tee proudly blazing the indigenous flag gave the reply "nup". So after deciding that not only was his head a bell end he was one we had one drink and left disappointed. We will spend our money elsewhere
