Have not had any particularly bad experiences with customer service or service provision bar the usual waiting and lazy meter readers and overbearing big company mentality. What does really annoy me is their incidental charges, which may be small but for Aurora are substantial. After using their website to check our power use, we were faced with no other option but to use their 'app'. Supposedly due the site being antiquated and not secure. To me this only begs the question why has such a large company not keep their site up to date and secure? A big annoyance with this is, that for some reason Aurora feels that to charge a monthly fee for this app is normal! What other utility or company does this? Then when wanting to switch to the 93 tariff there is a charge of 53.00. When I asked how these charges were justified, at least the Aurora person I spoke to was honest enough to say they could not give a reason. Regardless of Aurora's rhetoric, energy costs are higher here than in other states and we just have to live with that. However it makes it harder to accept when you are subjected to what cannot be described as anything less than a blatant money grab!

I used to greatly value Aurora Online. I received my quarterly email 1 or 2 days after the meter was read. Then with out any notice this service just stopped. I rang the customer service line. They did there best to handle the complaint but agreed; it had come out of the blue, was unexpected and they didn't really get it either. Talk about the right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing. These kind of issues speak volumes about poor management and weak Board oversight.

I can't understand why Aurora is still in existence. These days they are only a retailer, and the sole one in this state at that. Why don't TasNetworks do it all? Aurora don't even read the meters. There are too many entities involved with our power. No wonder we pay a fortune.

Most overpriced under reviewed, rudest customer service I 've ever had the misfortune to deal with. Outrageous prices of all fees. So rude when you ring costumer service have no idea on how to communicate to customers. They don't even give Veteran's Pensioners a discount. Only power company in Australia that doesn't discount veteran's. Unfortunately got no other choice.

1 years ago, I wanted to disconnect my gas account because I was from Sydney and I thought if you want to open new account it will be free but with Aurora they charge you 110 which is so expensive for me, so I called Aurora which I had to call so many times and talked with different staff member they do not allow me close the account (I haven't use it before and I ask to close within 10days) they all give me hard time said it will need approval or whatever it is. They do not need to write down about "cooling off period" in their website if at the end they will give you hard time and unwilling to do it at all. However they said gas will be cheaper than Electricity for heater, then okay I have no choice I still open my account because they ask me to pay for another 110 to close the account. I just have no choice because Aurora is the only provider in Tassie but seriously if there is 0 star I will choose 0 star instead of 1 star.

I've worked at a number of large utilities interstate and understand the challenges but this is one dysfunctional organisation. If only there was another serious choice in this state.
