This is the best local information centre I’ve been to. It’s more like a museum and gallery. The collection shows the rich history of Hill End and the technology tastefully brings it all to life. There’s something for all ages. Once you’re done head next door for a coffee at the cosy General Store.
Must see exhibition which includes the extraordinary photographic record made during Hill Ends 1870s heyday. Interesting exhibition includes mining displays and short film about town establishment and subsequent State Heritage Listing.
Worth a look.
A must place to visit whilst at Hill End. A lot of mining artifacts and provides visitors a historical insight of Hill End. It provides you with an idea how the village was like. A recommended "must visit" before exploring Hill End.
The information I received from here was great... a must see, just bring extra jumpers during winter...
