This is a lovely place, and I have found the 'current crop' of peeps managing/looking after it to be excellent. The weekly gathering at this community garden is my young son's favourite social event of his entire week (he has just turned 5). He learns a lot from this place and the people who interact with him there, and in the area surrounding it. This community garden is situated within a small 'park'/expanse containing a playground and basketball half-court that are used by many kids of diverse backgrounds/origins. For over a year now, ALL of these kids have been kind and accepting of my son, and they have all welcomed him into their basketball and soccer games (etc.) with open arms; despite my son being quite a lot younger than almost all of them. This community garden--and all the local kids who regularly interact with my son in the surrounding park while I tinker away in the garden--have been a great influence on my son. If you live in the local area and have a young child, I strongly recommend considering getting involved in the Buna Street Community Garden.
