Super fast, friendly and courteous, Marcel’s Shoe Repairs is conveniently located by the escalators to the Central Station bus stop. Great service and reasonable prices. Highly recommended.

Highly recommended. Excellent services. Marcel deserves more than a five star review in fixing my so loved shoes sole perfectly!! I bought this pair of shoes in Brazil 10 years ago - very good quality shoes. As you can see from the before and after photo, the sole was almost destroyed. But Marcel fixed it with such attention to detail. Couldn’t be happier with his services.

On an ordinary Wednesday, I stumbled into Marcel's to get some repairs made to my backpack. As he began to work, I took a seat on the bench inside the store. An elderly Greek man walked into the store to wish Marcel a Happy Easter, and as he was about to leave, he saw me sitting on the bench and extended me the same courtesy, and telling me to make the most of my youth and my life. He then proceeded to tell me a story: As a young man was crossing the street, he saw an old man, ready to collapse, planting an olive tree. The young man, perplexed, proceeded to ask the old man what on earth he was doing. The old man said "I live like I'm immortal, I won't stop working just because I'm old". The young man replied "That's outrageous, I live every day like it's my last"! We discussed with each other - who was right in this situation? We came to the conclusion that, if everyone lived like the young man, nothing would ever get accomplished, and that we can't just live in the moment. But on the other hand, there comes a point where you do need to look after yourself, take a step back, and enjoy life. Before I knew it, Marcel interrupted us to ask if I was satisfied with the work he had done (which of course it was superb). I then left the store both wiser and with a neatly sewn backpack.

45 for heel replacement on a pair of shoes. After getting the shoes back the edges of the soles were not cleaned up just the heel slapped on. Other places I have been to usually clean up the edges a little bit to make them look nice... After a few weeks of light use the heel has started to wear. I think the heel material is sorta soft. Also it took a week to get the shoes done. That said he does cut keys and sell other bits and bobs for cleaning and gluing shoes back together

Friendly, helpful, good value and good quality repairs on shoes and leather goods. Even had the time to offer advice on how to fix something I wanted to do myself.

He is the best by far! I just needed a couple of shoes to be glued, I asked around wynyard and they wanted to charge 40 each pair! Just for glue! Then I Google for more options, I read the good reviews he had and in fact not only his work is good, he is such an excellent person, he explained me that he won't take my shoes cause will take him ages to hold then while the glue dries and that time was what the other guys wanted to charge me so much for, but! He explained to me and gave me a solution, he just charged me for the glue and I hold my shoes so they stick properly, we had a nice talk. Point is he is a good person his willingness to help and fairly prices deserves to be price with our loyal return!
