Terrible customer service, buyer beware! We bought an expensive 90 jet lighter (Honest brand). Used it once it was very weak and kept cutting out, so we figured it was low on gas. we had to travel for work, so it was months before we got back to CTC to buy the fuel for it. After filling it, the device still didn't work so we took the device back to CTC to see if they could fix or exchange it. The sales person (Mary?) was very flustered and said she could exchange it if we paid half price for a new one, when we didn't agree to this she was very rude, snatching and getting really defensive, telling us they hadn't stocked this brand for months so we had no recourse. So we asked for the managers details and email so we could take the matter further, and she got more and more worked up telling us there is no email address and just saying the managers name is Steven. When we said we needed the store details so we could take the matter to consumer affair she got more upset then called 'Steven', who I guess told her to tell us they wouldn't be helping. We explained although it might be store policy not to honour any products if they were faulty after 6 months, as a consumer we were within our rights to expect a product of a certain quality to work properly at least once and we would put in a case with consumer affairs. The sales assistant calmed down a bit, and we explained we didn't blame her, but we weren't willing just to toss away an unused 90 dollar lighter without trying to have the manufacturer replace or fix it. It was not a great experience, this store does not stand behind the product they sell, we weren't after a favour we just wanted a lighter that worked after spending 90 for it and another 10 for refuelling.
