We joined the quiz night last night. Had a great time. The quiz was run by a professional quiz master company and was really well run. Food we ordered was great. The actual venue is beautifully done. We will be back for sure

My wife and I currently have been enjoying coming to the Quarrie the past several weeks/months, to enjoy a lunch out away from the kids. We like to come for lunch when it is quiet and always presented with excellent customer service. Unfortunately today we had the opposite. The staff member that seated and served us was quite rude, especially when asking for a window seat (with next to no other people in the restaurant) in which we were explained that would not be possible as it will be needed for other customers. Furthermore when discussing our order and specifying a glass with ice for a jack and coke, the staff member handed myself a premixed Jack Daniels and coke. Finally when our food arrived (keeping in mind we mentioned to the waiter, that my wife is pregnant so the steak needed to be especially well done) the steak was pink in the middle with blood seeping out when cut. (Picture attached) We decided to cut our loses and leave. To finish, I decided to avoid posting a public review and email them directly to discuss. Zero response was received.
We had a family function and the team were able to section of an area for us. They have us a dedicated bar person that was friendly and helpful. The food package was delicious and plentiful.
1 week ago I called the quarrie to make a big table booking to celebrate my husbands birthday (16 people). During the phone call i ask and was told by the lovely guy on the phone that I had a few options when it came to split billing/paying our bill on the night. 1. Pay whole table in one payment. 2. Split the table to 4 payments. Neither of those were possible because those coming were separate families/couples and there were more than 4 of them. Then there's the third option we got told- 3. Go up and pay individually at the bar and mention that we were a big table and to wait before cooking until everyone placed their order. This is what we opted for. We got there on the night and was seated. I told everyone about ordering and paying at the bar so they went to the bar. While there my sister-in-law heard a lady hounding the lovely waitress that was trying to take their order (Who we were later told is the manager). The manager said flat out no to us placing our order at the bar and said we had to order as a whole table and pay as a whole table or only split it 4 ways. I mentioned to the manager that I was told differently on the phone and tried to explain to her but she fobbed me off and said rather rudely to "just go sit down and she'll sort it later". Some of our guests didn't know where the toilets were so they ask and were told rather rudely how to get to the toilet. Overall the waitresses were lovely and accommodating, the guy who took my booking over the phone was lovely but the manager came across as rather rude and didn't seem she had even a few seconds to listen to what I had to say. Food was also lovely but a steak that was asked to be medium well done but seemed to be blue (still bleeding on the plate). We told a waitress to please relay that to the cooks just so they could be sure it was done properly for other guests. She apologised and was very nice about. Maybe the manager should take leaf out of the waitresses books.
Such a nice pub and atmosphere...but the food, Jesus it’s over priced. And ordinary at best. 30 for barramundi ( which was excellent) but the sides, lukewarm baked potatoes and 3 spears of asparagus and about 15 ml of cream sauce. Might pop in for a drink but if you’re not happy with food let the wait staff know ( you might have to flag them down) otherwise things won’t change. It’s a shame as the decor and atmosphere is nice. Could be amazing if the kitchen got it together.
Have been here previously and had lovely meals but tonight we had 3/3 poor meals. We let the wait staff know who was going to let management know. They had an offer of a free round of tea and coffee but considering it didn't look like any of us would take up this offer seemed like a poor gestured. Not impressed. Won't be in a hurry back.
This place was really nice. The atmosphere was great for a small group of people. Food and menu choice was also good too. Highly recommend! Will be back.
