I am transferring to another cardiologist elsewhere, as the cardiologist that I have been seeing for years at Genesis Care, refused to see or speak on the phone to me about a significant side effect concerning a medication that HE prescribed. "See your GP" was the message he relayed back to the receptionist, which wasn''t helpful (or appreciated) when I had already done this and needed further advice. This doctor's offhand attitude demonstrated a lack of professionalism and caring.

I have been totally abandoned by my Cardiologist and GenesisCare. It appears my condition got too difficult for him so he just gave up and ignored me. Last night I was brought by ambulance to QEII because Greenslopes Hospital was on bypass (first time for me). I was told that I would be transferred to Greenslopes if I needed to be admitted. The Doctor on duty tried calling Dr Connors (who was the Dr on call, and also my Cardiologist) at least 4 times during the night. She got no answer and no reply to the messages she left. I was left at QE11 for the night and it was 1:30pm IN THE AFTERNOON THE NEXT DAY before the doctor from QE11 could get hold of Dr Connors. Instead of him then immediately organising a transfer for me, he said he didn't need to see me and I could stay at QE11!! This was while I had active chest pain. I was so upset. I am a patient of Genesis Care AND a private patient. I came to QE11 because I was told I could be transferred to Greenslopes. I have now got a referral to a new cardiologist. I DO NOT recommend GenesisCare to anybody. Find another Cardiologist, there are plenty of others. Dr Connors has caused a nightmare situation for me and my family.
