Good for Cars
I recently moved to Adelaide and hired the service of "Moving Cars" and SBM to transfer my car from Brisbane to Adelaide. On their website they promise to deliver the car within 6-10 business days. However it has been more than 21 days that I am waiting for the car to be delivered. Any time that I rang the company the staff is really arrogant and don't give a proper answer about when the car will delivered. I am having financial losses because I need the car to commute and also I have personal belongings that I use to work inside the car. I think this is a complete lack of respect for clients, as we are counting on the delivery.
Wanted to get a car transported from Sydney to Adelaide. I wasted a lot of time with the many websites that come up in google for car transport. They are mainly transport agents rather than transport companies and most are the same agency under the guise of a different website. Their prices were pretty well all the same range and none offered me the ability to have my car picked up unless I gave a weeks notice. Most also don't allow anything to be left in the car other than your spare tyre! Some could only be contacted by email and some did not even reply to my emails or where they had a phone number, did not even answer! So I decided to go direct to a transport company that actually transports cars and called SMB. The bloke that answered the Sydney number sounded like a truckie himself, pretty straightforward and no BS. Price quoted was 630 from Sydney depot (seven hills) to Adelaide depot (Cavan) I paid extra (220) for a traytop to come pickup my car on the Lower North Shore in Sydney as I did not want to drive out to their depot. They quoted 15 business days to deliver. I asked about whether I could put some stuff in the boot and they did not have a problem with that as long as it was not more than 60kg and they took no responsibility for anything I put in there which was fair enough. So I booked for my car to be picked up next morning. They emailed me an invoice which I paid immediately and a traytop truck turned up on time next morning. 14 business days later I got a text message from SMB stating my car has arrived at Cavan depot and could be picked up anytime before 4pm. I went out to Cavan that afternoon and picked the car up. Everything was as it was when I shipped it so I was very happy with the overall process and would use them again!
Take a long time to deliver. Not clear in their instructions. I had to throw away a couch on the spot because it half blocked one of the rear side windows.
