This company uses ploys to coerce potential customers to sign contracts. They lie about the services they provide. Their contract allows 9- days to cancel and be fully refunded less admin fee, but they do not return money. I will be taking legal action against this company under Australian Consumer Law. They need to be fined and then taken out of business.
This is the most unprofessional company I have ever known. I went through the whole process to publish my book BUT the finished edited copy that I approved was not printed but rather a copy with many mistakes. When I notified them they had the mistakes taken out. I now have 500 books which I purchased before mistakes taken out which I can not sell, Xlibris will not replace the books or refund the nearly 5000 spent. They have now gone quite with no contact even when they say I will be contacted soon. What else the review I paid for from Forward reviews was done on book with mistakes which the author states there are mistakes which cause some stopping and confusion to reader. No good. I will see if this post makes a difference but I think I will be bring in the lawyers. Please do not use this company they only want you to pay for a second rate service with no responsibility, they survive on your dreams.
Never got to publish with them and I never want to. They call at ungodly hours at the most random of times - unscheduled, even to point where these calls are YEARS apart, and it's only to sell obscenely expensive packages that don't guarantee sales of your book. Do not waste your time.
It is always difficult finalizing a publication via phone conversations, messages and emails. Even though I have experienced problems with Xlibris, they were always resolved. They always responded promptly and professionally. Sometimes discussions became tense and slightly challenging, but things as difficult as publishing do create tensions. That does not mean that a resolution cannot be found. Overall, I was respected as an author and I thank Xlibris for working so hard to promote by books. Thank you Xlibris!
This company is not very professional. They ask you to pay out piles of money for different things, which you do, because they promise you the best service. Their editing takes too long and comes back with more errors in it than when you sent it. When you notify them of you terminating the agreement, they do not contact you, and take more out of your accounts without permission. They do not return emails, phone calls, and do not return your money. I would never recommend this company to anyone.
Horror stories about this service from many of my author clients. Be very wary, do your research, read a wide range of reviews. Be careful with your money.
