Opened on 21 March 1880 this is a small, old Catholic primary school for the parish area covering Pyrmont and Glebe, nestled on a quiet side street in Glebe. It's small size (around 100 children) means more attention is given to each student and the staff here truly value their educational role in the children's lives and their attentiveness is wonderful. Recommended school.

St James school is a small school situated on a quite street in Forest Lodge. The current principal Enrica Bova and staff are a very dedicated team. Their main focus is providing a safe, warm and caring environment for all children. Their teaching styles are second to none and their focus is on children's strengths and capabilities. Being a small school definately is an asset. Staff to child ratios is very low, thus allowing positive, respectful and caring relations to develop between teacher and students as well as benefitting from smaller class sizes. This allows children to spend more time with their teacher when learning. Enrica and her team have intergrated Quick smart numeracy programs and literacy programs that are tailored to each child's academic achievements.
