Nice people and amazing service. Helpful to the youth .
The case workers barely remember things you tell them, unreliable and barely help unless your in a more urgent or dire situation. Youth homelessness and disadvantage is clearly complex but with every person who is struggling or "at risk" there are grey areas and not everyone experiences the same level of suffering but despite this they should be heard and given space so that they are able to change their situations and to promote self determination. This may be difficult to do due to funding and overworked staff but when your in a difficult situation and the people you would expect to help don't do much then more harm is done and there's another person whose been failed and is homeless. If this organisation aims to help alleviate youth homelessness they should focus more on ensuring they're clients are heard and question the ways in which some aspects of their service may be causing more harm.
Ok so it's been a long time since I tried to come here for help (16-21) and only just feeling ok to talk about this, I went to this service after being kicked out I was terrified and made to give my parents phone number (they said I was welcome home , despite that not being true and being abused) due to this lie I was told I won't get help at all and struggle homeless at 16, I hope this procedure has since been changed as it literally left me with no help no home no support
