Just called to insure my third boat with Club marine. They were belligerent and totally unresponsive. There was not one 'yes' in the conversation. Even though the new boat has been insured with them they were not interested in even having a conversation. No problems. I will be taking all 3 to another insurer. These are not small boats. The other 2 have been with CM for over 30yrs. They are not interested in assessing a risk they just want a premium.

Very average insurance, took over a month to process my claim. So they could have a sub contract asessor help them wriggle out of paying. All this effort to avoid a 3.5k payout, imagine what they would do to get out of a total loss. Claimed the damage was existing, which was absolutely not true. I even supplied photos of it undamaged before the storm. We now cant get it in the water for summer so have to sell it for what we can get and get another boat if we want to get out. Needless to say new boat is not been insured by club marine.

I thought that if our pleasure craft was on lay-up, we could still transport it for a service & back to the location specified on the policy. It seems this may have changed, as stated on my renewal policy this year. Have I been wrong all these years? Eeeek. If this is a new thing, I am most upset. If it is not and has been the case for so many years, I am glad nothing happened.
I was insured by club marine and when my boat was broken into the payed out on half the items stolen (even tho i paid extra to cover the items)and it took 3 months to get that.
