Extremely disappointment in your manager. I encouraged my group of friends to attend Retros and was looking forward to an enjoyable night. Our group was having a great night until your manager decided to kick out the only sober person in our group. Your “manager” and I use that term loosely was the one who ran into her and then proceeded to get security to kick her out. Even the security said it was ridiculous and he’d been watching our group dancing and behaving all night. This resulted in our group of 12 ladies leaving who would of spent a substantial amount at your venue. On top of this I have a private booking for my husbands upcoming birthday which I will now cancel and won’t recommend your venue to anyone I know. Such a shame that one person with an obvious attitude can cause such a negative experience. The only positive was the security were fantastic. Please don’t waste your time with a copy paste reply and actually respond to your paying customer.

Last weekend, almost lost my phone @ the bar counter but thank god for this lady who kept it for me @ the bar. Not sure what’s her name but thank you soooo much love the music & crowd there. For sure my favourite club as I’ve been there heaps My friends love it tooo 10/10 recommend!

Great music and vibe. Though security and management are very inconsistent with entry requirements. One night you're allowed in with Adidas runners, another night you're not. Lines are also incredibly long and slow.

First of all, I really don't do this often because I really can't be bothered but this really annoyed me, my friends and after speaking with other customers lined up to enter the venue, them also. And I have a photo to go with this. So last night we had come into the valley specifically to line up and go to Retro's, we were really looking forward to it, not a rowdy bunch whatsoever but wanted to have a good time, even willing to pay an entry fee. As we are lining up security approach my group of friends and advise us that my male friend can't enter due to his shoes, which as you will see in the photo attached are a pair of pristine white reeboks which is the fashion these days (apparently). I will admit, they weren't rude about it but it just seemed weird. Their excuse being that it's classed as a sports shoe. We look around and every second person in line is wearing a white sneaker, or any kind of sneaker for that matter! And none of these people are being told to move on, not even the guy on the left wearing Converse, apparently they've never been used in sports before?! But as you can see in the photo, my friend is here modelling his shoes which look an awful lot like everybody else's shoes lined up and also as you can see I'm in the background in an orange cardigan speaking with another patron lining up who is absolutely gobsmacked with what I am telling her about the shoes, who herself is also wearing white sneakers and was afraid she may be kicked out. So we went across to Sound Garden and up to the Press Club and really enjoyed our night might I tell you but seriously Retro's get with the program, your shoe policy is an absolute joke. We are in 2021 and athleisure wear is a thing. Were we afraid he was going to run laps in the bar or something?!

Been here a few times now and always satisfied with the music and mood. But!!! I strongly suggest the owner run a course on what type of shoes are seen as appropriate and not appropriate. I usually wear these cheap 40 conner boat shoes or a 190 pair of black casual shoes and have never had a problem with them until recently. As I came up to the front the guy was just like no not with those shoes and I told him I come here heaps and have had these shoes a couple of times, I also stated that the shoes are 190 but with no hesitation he said sorry those shoes aren't allowed. Teach the people you hire about shoes because they are obviously not competent or trained.

The DJ was awesome and the security guard was really nice but still fair with social distancing policing. However, I will never go back due to the very obviously watered down drinks. Paid 10 for vodka sodas in mini cups overfilled with ice, and it tasted like soda only. Every other person in the group identified that the alcohol in their drinks were almost non-existent. Only purchase pre-mixed drinks unless you want to pay for 10 water

Alex, a tall fit Spanish looking dude, by far the best bar tender you have had. He remembered my drink was efficient and kind without a word needed. By far the best club just because of the service. The guy deserves a raise for his efforts. Thanks so much for the great night.
