Quoted repair prices are significantly more expensive than alternative bike shops; however, Dever typically has shorter turnaround times (as you would expect). Hence, I have occasionally shopped here when I needed an urgent repair or when I was too lazy to go to my favorite bike shop (I live across the road). I have a couple of grievances. 1. Once I had spokes replaced and a wheel trued, and upon completion the store attendant asked for an additional 50% beyond the agreed upon price because the job took longer than anticipated. This was disappointing, and had I known this I would have shopped elsewhere or performed the repair myself. I told the store attendant this, and fortunately he agreed to honour the stated price. 2. I have been charged different prices for the same repair/product, depending on who served me. On each occasion it felt like the store attendant looked me up and down to assess my level of expertise before naming a price. Also, my friend was charged 45 for a product only to discover a 35 price tag upon returning home. That said, I have always been satisfied with the quality of the repairs.

Not happy. Be wary they do not keep to quoted prices. Bike inspected, quoted 99 for service. On pick up was charged 154 because it 'took a bit longer'. No courtesy call. Managed to reduce to 134 by contesting. Will NOT be going back.

Was a bit nervous looking at some of these 1 star reviews but the shop is literally over the road so thought I would try my luck. I had a great experience with lovely staff and reasonable prices. I had to go back a week or so after my service with an issue and they fixed it then and there no charge. Their suggestions were useful and my old bike is riding very well!

I broke my gear shifter cable yesterday and immediately started calling around to get it repaired. Some places said a week; some places didn't respond. Bikes De Ver said bring it and I got it fixed same day and cheap. Awesome.

I had a pretty annoying and unusual problem with my rear wheel. The shop where I got the bike from didn't put any effort in figuring out what was the issue and they just told me it was all normal. So I went to DeVer and they listened and spend time with me checking the bike and figuring out the problem. They even put effort in trying to change my wheel out of warranty considering that it was only 6 months old even though I didn't buy the bike from them. I decided anyway to go for the more expensive option and buy a new wheel from them. They had to order it new because they didn't have it in the shop and 2 days later the bike was ready and it feels like new. They really know what they are doing and I'm really pleased with their service. Willing to listen and very professional. Definitely my bike shop choice from now on.
