Excellent Malaysian restaurant, do vist
Restaurant has a very homely, Malaysian atmosphere to it. Great food. Great service.
1) Miniaturised takeaway - half the portion, full price. Real price gorging, while restaurants elsewhere are offering half price deals, Kotakaya decides to go half portion with full price instead. Don't bother with the chicken rice takeaway unless you want to grab KFC on the way back home. 2) Raw uncooked wombok served. This is not a salad or a cold dish, you just don't serve raw uncooked (not even under cooked) vege. If they couldn't be bothered to cook the Asian vege, I wonder if they even washed it. 3) Drinks including fruit juice stored in unplugged fridge. The drinks appear dodgy with the fridge switched off. I checked the power outlet to verify and saw that the switch is clearly toggled off. Now Kotakaya, if you read this and decide to quietly switch the fridge back on, throw away all the fruit juice bottles alright? Don't think no one is watching and you can just keep selling and just pretend all is good.
An authentic Malaysian Chinese restaurant. Prices is fair and portion is good. Tried the lobak and the sambal eggplant and long beans, would recommend these.
Friday night just a few days ago, we ordered for a 6.15 pick up. I went to pick up the meal worth about 90 and was told it was almost ready. Why don't I wat in my car and they would bring it out. 30 minutes later the meal appeared. They had our phone number and email address but nothing, nothing to say 'hey guys we are so sorry but we forgot to start your meal'. Wont be going back.
The staff and chef are always careful to ensure no allergens are in the food I order. The food is very tasty and good value. Chris, Montrose
