Easy walk to the hut and arboretum. Beautiful, tall pines, some 80 years old with good signage detailing what each section of trees is and the year they were planted. If you visit in Spring all the alpine flowers are out along the way.
Great place for a day tour. It feels remote but only one hour drive from Canberra.
A serene and enjoyable place to visit. There are some magnificent and rare trees here, and it's lovely to smell the changes in the fragrances as you wander among the trees. The walk in-and-out takes about 20-30 minutes each way, and could easily be ridden by bikes.
Amazing place
The only arboretum to survive the 2003 bushfires. Planted 50 years ago. Some impressive trees, and still popular with walkers. Not far from Canberra, on ok dirt roads. Plenty of informative signage, a high country hut picnic tables. It is an easy walk in from the locked gate. Close enough to Bulls Head picnic ground if you need amenities (toilets, bbqs).
Easy walk and an interesting place to visit with a collection of mainly North American conifer trees.
Very beautiful, no photo could do it justice. The smells and sounds are too good. 1km walk in deters vandals. Wear good shoes and bring a picnic. Ride your mountain bike! Leave your pets at home, no fires. Love it. Come back every season. Every season has it's own beauty.
