Beautiful sceneries, good service, perfect wine but please improve on the food menu. The food was bad, we ordered the set menu and all of the dishes beside the fish was really average. The set cost around 85 pp, not including desserts.

Unfortunately the rain interfered with our picnic lunch so the picnic was brought indoors. We were given a table with a beautiful view. It was a nice comprehensive spread. Plenty of food and a lovely cocktail which was included in the package. The two salads were nice however the chicken coleslaw salad had no dressing so it was very dry. We were not given any serving cutlery so it was difficult serving salads onto our plates and picking up cheese, cold meat and pickled vegetables. I also think a tablecloth would have been a nice touch to add to the picnic experience (whether it be indoors or outdoors). A larger plate to serve the food on would have been handy as the pretty picnic box the food came in was deep and you had to stand to see in it and reach for the food. If we were outside we would have been on an outdoor table so the situation would have been same. The boxes are good if you're seated on the grass but on a table, serving cutlery and a large serving plate would have made it all the more comfortable. Little things but I think important.
A stunning place to have some wine and cheese. They do get quite busy during holidays but it’s an absolutely beautiful place. They showcase t their history too if you are interested. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. They have a good cheese platter if you want to munch on something while tasting their wine
The bad. The staff at reception was insisting we go to the Cafe instead of the restaurant dont know why. We were dressed appropriately nor did we look like tourists.. in the end he did not have a choice!( it's my wife's birthday) that's what's disappointing. Customers shouldn't be judged. I felt bad like getting to justify why we wanted to go to the restaurant. HE PROBABLY thought we couldn't afford it or some other personal reason. The good part. Staff in the restaurant was excellent very knowledgeable and courteous Food was very tasty and flavours were amazing although other people may not like it we did. In the end we spent 300.
Lovely place to visit on sunny day. The main lamb dish on the set lunch so so..not looking forward coming back for this particular dish. Very attentive staff.
We had the set menu option... Delicious. The view was spectacular, the service was unobtrusive yet attentive. The only fault would be the wine selection. Sometimes it's nice to have a still wine other than a wine with bubbles
Absolutely amazing lunch on their gathering 3 course bite menu!! Not only was the food of the highest standard and delicious but the service was impeccable! Would definitely come back again and again!
This is my happy place. The staff are lovely, the views and gardens are amazing and the wine is fantastic.
