There's some beautiful old buildings here. I've been fortunate enough to see the from the outside, which is more than most people given the current Covid concerns. Cocoroc could certainly benefit from being made into a Melbourne Water museum of sorts, owing to the fact that its very existence was to house the treatment plant workers. I doubt that MW will likely do anything like this for quite some time, especially given the current global situation.

This is a Restricted, and Protected Area. It is the site of the historic township and ruins of Cocoroc (1894-1973). Melbourne Water controls the entry into this site, as it is on their property. I believe there is also security guards on patrol after hours. There is a "Friends Group" in its infancy of being formed, to look after and preserve what is left of the old township. Please see the website above, Wikipedia, and Facebook page: "The Far Away Land of The House and Two Cows". Plus other websites that Cocoroc is mentioned, including Wikipedia. I was born and grew up here, went to school here, we had the last Cocoroc Post Office complete with red post box and red telephone box out the front. That was before the bulldozers came and made the town disappear.
