The Whale and Ale is next to a fabulous bottleshop with a great range of wines and spirits and (yuk) premixes. The food is very very good and fresh. The ribs have been a favourite of many of my friends (although personally I find the sauce - as usual - too sweet for me).. the portion is enormous and easily feeds to normal people. The staff are very welcoming like a traditional British pub and they have big screens playing a variety of sports. All in all a great place for a meal and a pint!

Food here was delicious. Skin on salmon . Looked and tasted like a top but h restaurant. Very impressed. The kids menu actually included salad! It looked appetising, set out beautifully like an adult meal. This place I give a big thumbs up .
Perfect customer service. The food was generously portioned and, along with the drinks, tasted outstanding. Very reasonable prices. We'll definitely be back.
Always gather there with close friends for lunch or some special events, were never disappointed

Great location. I don't get that far north often and the Clarkson area is fabulous. Beach location with lovely views I was at the Whale & Ale for a political function and the staff saw everything through without a hitch. I will be coming back for a leisurely meal.
