I hired a bike in Brisbane, South Bank but rang the number on the machine for some extra info and the gentleman was very helpful in explaining things. Very easy to do, very cost effective at 2 for a 24 hour using my credit card and 50 security if the bike isn't returned! There were lots of return stations around Brisbane which I found easily on Google but I was told there is an app to find them. I was concerned that the 30 min return was going to be an issue but I did find lots of return areas so just kept taking the bike out again. The only problem I can see is there aren't enough helmets because they weren't with every bike on the stand but also it would be good to be able to keep the bike for 1 hour at a time as it was slightly stressful worrying that I wouldn't get it back within 30 minutes. However, it was only an extra 5 for a late return! I would definitely use them again :)

A fast and easy way to get around Brisbane. Bikes worked well once we understood how to rent one. A great service!

So easy to use and super helpful over the phone. Thanks to Lisa and Rosie. I've called a number of different companies over the phone and I'm very happy with how these women have handled an error in the system. Thanks so much, you went the extra distance. Cheers

Nice to have a bike ride along the river. However it says for casual pass the first half hour is free. My little printout says I had the bike for 25min 47s. I was still charged the 2 fee even though I returned bike before 30min. It's only 2 so no big deal. But if the first 30min isn't free then it shouldn't say that it is. The terms and conditions are several pages long, no one is going to be able to read it all without taking a few hours. Have to wonder why it's so wordy. The pay station for first time user wasn't very straight forward. The bikes are a little uncomfortable and heavy but probably has to be to be sturdy. There are three gears that helps with hills. So all in all bikes not so bad just a bit disappointed with honesty with payment.

BE AWARE: The casual pass is a scam and you can easily end up paying 20 or more for a few hours even though they make it seem on the access screens like you're only paying 2 for the whole day. Definitely a great convenience if you need to get around certain areas, but as usual, council through either corruption or incompetence sells out its citizens to a dishonest subcontractor.

Best transport option in Brisbane. Love it. There's so many CC stations that I never had to look one up, just ride wherever I'm going and then have a quick look around. Great not having to worry about locking my own bike to something... Just return the city cycle and forget about it. Who would be a motorist!!?

The price and fees are misleading and deceptive- continually says 2 casual pass, 2 casual pass, then charges an extra deposit fee of 50, which it says will pay you back in 24 hours, but it does not pay you back in 24 hrs. I then rang up City Cycle two days later to ask where my 50 deposit fee is, they say possibly 5 plus working days -just rude, very misleading, and dumb system
