VERY BAD SERVICE!! The lady that answers the phone (that’s if she answered) is rude, unprofessional and doesn’t speak good English. Even when you choose the English option she replies to you in Spanish. I had to legalise some documents for my student visa to Spain and it took her ages to understand what I want. She made me and others wait for hours because the consular was in a meeting even though we all had appointments. And all I needed is a stamp to certify the document. It’s really unacceptable.They should either change her or get more people to work there.

Very helpful, I emailed the consulate regarding obtaining my Spanish passport and nationality I received a response straight away. I wasn't sure what forms I needed to fill out and were sent all the forms I needed.
All the staffs were very friendly and very helpful. Even if we knew a bit of spanish, they can speak English to make it easier. They were very understanding too that we had two kids with us who could be all over the place and make so much noise. So satisfied with the service we received.

If you are foreigner and just want to apply for a NIE separately from any kind of visa, for whatever reason, just go to the Spanish consulate in Sydney. These guys are not gonna help you.
My most recent dealing with this Consulate was excellent. They were incredibly helpful. Previous experiences had not been so positive, but things seem to have changed for he positive. Thank you.
My husband and I just had to post our application and documents for Schengen visa. This process was not clearly outlined in the website but we inquired via email and Lidia responded within the day. We were contacted for biometrics in less than a week. I am quite happy with the service we received. It would be better though if the website has more information to enable people to self-serve.
