Pros: Affordable rent but reasonable room condition; liveable suburb, convenient public transport; good choice for tight budget. Cons: Just next to main streets, traffic noise is major problem, especially north building; Residential noise is also of a concern here.

Have not been living here but I am impressed by its staff. They have been getting back to my emails quickly and respectfully. Ash was taking me around to 4 different rooms for inspections, she was very nice, patient and approachable although she was very busy on the day. Rent of the units are relatively cheap during this period of time, units are a bit old but generally clean and tidy.

I've lived at this place for over 1 year now and honestly, I will not be renewing my lease no matter what! When you pay an average of 1700 a month for the tiniest apartment possible, the least you expect is having clean tap water. But not with UniLodge - no sir! The water here tastes like metal and every once in a while, it's foggy white instead of clear and transparent. Giving these people my email address was simply an invitation to get my email inbox spammed with useless sugar-coated newsletters. The worst part is that there's no way to unsubscribe from these emails. Aside from that, I'm not sure what kind of a lousy system these people have - a system that just keeps "forgetting" the details about the residents. They just keep asking you to fill out the same form again and again, stating that they're "updating" the system. What "system" do you use - Ms Excel!? Overall, wouldn't recommend to anyone whom I care about. Annoying, overpriced, unprofessional, and downright mismanaged!

Part 1 I've just signed my tenancy agreement prior to moving in. I was assisted by the customer service agent, Ash, and I have to say that she was fantastic. I had a lot of questions regarding this location, as I had read a lot of bad reviews online and not many detailed good reviews. Ash responded to all my emails and questions promptly and comprehensively, I was very impressed with her efficiency and helpfulness. She showed me around the available apartments and facilities when I arrived for an inspection and was friendly and honest. Make no mistake, Ash is the reason I've given 5 stars. The rooms and facilities all look great, but having friendly and helpful staff is a must. Normally I would say the prices of Unilodge are exorbitant and aimed at taking advantage of international students, but due to the lack of international students because of Covid, the prices have gone down to a reasonable level, in line with the rest of the market. Thus I can afford, on Centrelink benefits, to rent this apartment. If the prices were at the normal level (400 p/w for a normal sized studio apartment) I wouldn't even consider this place. For those who have issues with apartment condition/bond etc. 1. Take photos of everything when you move in. 2. Contact VCAT (tenants have a lot of rights). Landlords everywhere will try to screw you, its not unique to here. I'm looking forward to moving in and using the facilities. I'm a little disappointed I couldn't choose my own utilities providers, but it's not a big deal. I will update this review with Part 2 in about 12 months

Just don't bother with this company. They treat international students as cash cows. They had multiple misconducts reported in Austrlian news. They treat you nice and well upon entry, but when you're about to vacate they give you a lot of troubles. Chris Chow handled my property and issued me ridiculuous charges upon leave, of about 40% of my bond. Every single item was the actual apartment condition before me. I talked to their Customer Service Manager (Iswor Phuyal) and even General Manager (Robert Davey) multiple times on phone and email. They told me that they will sort things out, there was a mistake on their end. But finally they refused to pay back my money, even though they promised me multiple times. Iswor told me to my face that he doesn't care and they will not pay me back. And he said there's nothing I can do about it. This company specifically targets chinese and indian students (among others). Because these students are mostly unaware of their rights, and don't have the resources to follow things up if needed. JUST STAY AWAY from this company.

Had some of my worst and most wonderful experience here! Just a shot away from University of Melbourne. Nice place.
