Maybe biased because I’ve started going to a program here, but it’s absolutely fantastic! People are super nice, and I manage to learn a fair bit.

The most awful people are involved with AYCC, which is incredibly hypocritical since they work on human rights issues. Leadership was particularly awful: - Leadership, including welfare officers, often gossiped about volunteers and spread rumours about them. - Leadership put volunteers down with snide remarks while sniggering in their face. - Leadership aimed the most revolting sexual-based comments and racial slurs at volunteers. Certain members of leadership tried to abuse their position of power to get sexual favours from volunteers. - Leadership often disregarded the wellbeing of volunteers in favour of the work. They guilt tripped volunteers and made them feel incompetent if they couldn't meet unrealistic deadlines. - These same members of leadership were highly praised for their work with no apparent disciplinary actions taken for their unacceptable behaviour. - Certain members of leadership were confronted about their behaviour, but instead of recognising their misdoings, instead chose to double down on bullying volunteers to silence them. They used manipulative, bad mouthing tactics and their influence as leaders to turn other volunteers against their targets. - AYCC has a culture that is not only condescending towards volunteers who don't fit into a certain far-left mold, but 'mainstream’ people at large. It's not right for AYCC to present themselves as good people just because they work on social causes. I strongly urge you to not support these people.

Made a donation online - their payment system took the donation twice and sent two receipts with different receipt numbers. I immediately emailed and asked for one of the donations to be refunded. No response. Eventually (after three weeks of phone calls, emails and requests on their Facebook page) the money was refunded. By then I was so unhappy with the lack of response I demanded they refund both donations, which they did. I do not trust this organisation.

AYCC has done a great job of building a youth climate movement, educating and empowering young people to effect stronger climate mitigation and achieve long term cultural change and short term political change.

Australia's premier not for profit climate group, empowering youth to stand up for a safe climate future. Protecting our Great Barrier reef from outdated polluting coal miners it a vital job and deserves support . Staffed by passionate , intelligent and super friendly staff .
