Since department of corrections took over not a lot has changed at this Prison. Messages and information don’t get past on from officer to officer or the officers at reception. I have been visiting on and off for years. For a non contact visit I am asked to take off my wedding ring and then I am searched??? I shouldn’t have to tell them how to do their job. UNREAL

I am reading the Sunday times about Melony Attwood an Jemma Lilley an I think they should be in different jails an kept apart for the rest of their life's they lost their rights when they took someone's life.The W.A. government what's to take a good look at the law when it comes to murderer's I think they should be put to death.that's all murderer's
I would like to thank the officers that helped me get my required medications that the NURSES Made absolutely refused to cooperate with the officers directions this impacted on my life and resulted in me not being able to eat sleep or go to the toilet I'm now released and as I'm not the only women to be discriminated against
I didn't even want to give a star on my own personal experience of being a prisoner.. it took almost 10 days to get given a letter from my children.. they came in for a visit and handed the letters over the counter at reception it's a joke
Completely incompetent staff Did nothing but smile and change stories This all happened after I'd tried to contact this PRISON for more than a week before they even answered the phone, but by then I'd had a call from my step-daughter (in the office with a prison officer) the day before today (16/2) to arrange a visit. Arrived at meleleuca to NO VISIT! Gate house staff were extremely rude and 110% counter constructive. Only reason I got anything done was because I refused to leave until I spoke to a senior officer. Spoke with ops manager and he immediately booked a visit and also he questioned the reasoning as to why I was bluntly refused to book a visit by gate house staff after being told on the phone inmates have to book visits then being told by another officer in gatehouse that I didn't come to gatehouse to book that's why I had no visit. I have been visiting prisons for 20 years and this (meleleuca prison) is a shambles,run by inexperienced incompetent staff with severe attitude problems and absolutely no feeling for a inmates and families of inmates in custody. I found the staff at meleleuca are unprofessional, inexperienced, insensitive and counter-productive. Every officer had a different version of policy regarding visits. My step-daughter has been in custody 2 weeks and no one has been able to visit her yet,or give her money, as we are unsure who has to book a visit or how to go about it as every officer we speak to has a different story. Get your stories straight. Not at all happy. I will be informing DCS headoffice of my experiences here at this prison.
Absolutely hopeless . Just try to make an enquiry or book a visit ... NO ONE EVER EVEN ANSWERS THE PHONE .!!!!!!!! You can try calling them ten times a day .!! No answer . The one time i actually manged to make a booking to visit my friend , she told me of staff incompetence, poor food & conditions. Staff just letting fights carry on ......... I would give it less stars if possible. Minus 5
