Cannot recommend any other removalists but Chess Moving Perth for interstate relocation and vehicle transportation. Was very happy with their professional, responsive, kind and polite service. Good value as well! Jessica at the very first contact, Ellen and Natalie were all lovely and friendly. Even the crew members on uplifting day were very nice and like down to earth people. I just had my all items sent 2 days ago and am so excited to get my stuff back in a timely manner hopefully I can leave another review once I receive them.

We recently used Chess Moving Perth to move locally, having been recommended them through a friend. From the initial engagements with Natalie, we have been impressed with the entire Chess Moving team. Their responses to my initial inquiries were both helpful and quick, and their prices are competitive. Given the amount of furniture (and size of some items) we had four of the Chess team assist us with our move; Ikuya, Josh, Kyh and Sean. All four guys were very friendly and extremely professional, introducing themselves on arrival. They all arrived at the scheduled time and completed our move earlier than expected. All our our belongings were handled with care, their packing skills were impressive, and the speed at which they were able to move our things was fantastic. I would definitely recommend the Chess Moving team to anyone looking at moving.
The whole process from start to finish was a breeze. They also moved an 8 person Spa along with the contents of my home. Tremendous job guys and thank you! Highly recommend.
Chess was partnered with a UK company I hired to transport my goods to Australia. I understood that any Aus govt fees would be on top of the amount I paid in the UK. Chess advised me of a approx 180 ‘quarantine inspection fee’ required before my goods could be released, and this was charged by the Department of Agriculture. I contacted the department who advised that they carry out such inspections on selected consignments but there is no fee for the inspection itself. When I pushed Chess they reused to provide an invoice from Dept of Agriculture (saying they don’t get one because they are invoiced one bulk) but admitted that the fee also involved some of their ‘associated costs’. When I asked for a breakdown of these my ‘fee’ was reduced in half. I suspect they are paying a fee to Dept Agriculture for officers to come to their facility / property and conduct the inspection, & then on charging customers & misrepresenting that this is mandatory on all goods. Would have been quicker and cheaper to post the goods!
Our inter-state move involved a on-site survey of items for an initial quote and to determine the number of boxes required. Our liaison, Emma, has great attention to details and was responsive. We required a specific up-lift time; though it seemed tricky to organise, Emma sorted it out for us anyway. The removalists were quick and knew what they were doing. There were a lot of communications with us to ensure that our goods were handled properly with care. We really appreciate Chess Moving Perth's help during a really stressful time for us!
Our move was challenging, involving packing and uplift from our house in Perth, storage there for more than three months, transfer to Canberra and delivery/unpacking to our new home. There were uncertainties around timing due to our change of plans but throughout the whole process, from quotation to final unpack and placement of furniture the Chess team were efficient, on schedule, polite, friendly and above all flexible. We would certainly use their services for a future move. Thank you Chess!
